The online KPPI (Praise and Divine Healing Service) was held again on Thursday, August 20, 2020 through live-streaming program on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. God’s Word was delivered by Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak, taken from Luke 10:1, 17-20 about Jesus sending seventy disciples and the return of the seventy disciples.
The Seventy Disciples Cast Out Demons
The seventy disciples of Jesus returned with joy. Where did the disciples come from? If we look at Luke 10:1, these disciples returned from a ministry which was carried out by them in cities, places, and areas that would be visited by Jesus. Jesus sent them in pairs to heal the sick and cast out demons. The same thing was done by the twelve disciples of Jesus who were always with Him.
Luke 9: 1-2, “Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” (NKJV)
The seventy disciples were sent to preach the Kingdom of God, to heal the sick, and to cast out demons. The disciples who were sent by Jesus returned to share the good news.
Indeed, Jesus said that He had given power to the disciples, so that the demons were subject to them in the name of Jesus. These disciples were so happy and wanted to share the good news from the results of their ministry to Jesus.
Rejoice Because Your Name is Registered in Heaven
When the disciples were so overjoyed at this, Jesus suddenly said in Luke 10:20, “Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” (NKJV) Jesus wanted to tell us that we do not rejoice because the demons are subject to us, but above all, rejoice because our names are registered in heaven.
Who can register our names in heaven? It is only Jesus who can register our names because He has the authority in heaven. For example, who can register our name in a favorite school? Who can guarantee that we will be accepted in a well-known campus or large company? They are the people who have power or authority. Likewise, who can register our names in heaven? Who guarantees us to go into heaven? Only Jesus, because Jesus is powerful, He owns heaven itself.
Why does Jesus have the power to register our names in heaven? Because He is the Son of God, He is God Himself who came down to earth and became like us humans. He was willing to humble himself, whereas in fact He was the Almighty Son of God, the Son of God who is worshiped by angels in heaven.
Jesus came into the world with a meek heart to preach salvation for us and He was willing to lay down His life on the cross to atone for our sins. Why must we be redeemed? Because the Word of God says in Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
Who among us dares to say that I have not sinned? Everyone has sinned, is unclean, and filthy. Maybe we want to pay for our sins, but can an unclean person atone for his sin?
The Word of God says in Isaiah 64: 6 says: “But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.”
Even if we want to do righteousness, then our rightheousness is like a dirty rag before God, so we cannot redeem our sins. Only Jesus can atone for our sins, only He can take us to heaven. He is able to guarantee us and take us to heaven. That is why He is able to tell us to rejoice that our names are written in heaven.
Now, will we believe in Jesus? The Word of God says in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Everyone who believes in Jesus will have their sins forgiven, they will not be destroyed, will not be condemned, but are forgiven and receive salvation, have eternal life and have their names registered in heaven.
Let us accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. For those who have prayed to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, welcome to the Kingdom of Heaven. If our names are registered in heaven, then rejoice. The Word of God says in John 1:12, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name”
Jesus Is Able to Heal You
For those who are sick, believe that Jesus is able to heal you.
Isaiah 53: 5 “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
Who suffered from this? Who was crushed and tortured like this? He is Jesus. He experienced all of these on the cross to bring salvation to us. Not only for the salvation of our souls, but the Word of God says that by His stripes we are healed. So there is a basis for us to ask God for healing which is because He has redeemed us, and by His stripes, miracles happen, and we become healed.
Whatever our illnesses whether serious or minor illnesses, and whether there is a cure or no cure, have faith that by Jesus’ stripes we will receive healing. Jesus is still the same. Two thousand years ago He healed blind people, lame people and all diseases, and He continues to perform miracles and until now He is still able to heal you. [YF/EM]
