The online KPPI (Praise and Divine Healing Service) took place again on Monday, September 7, 2020, through the Live Streaming program on Facebook and YouTube.
The Word of God was delivered by Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak, taken from Mark 11: 12-14 about Jesus cursed the fig tree and Mark 11: 20-26 about the dry fig tree and Jesus’ advice about prayer.
Jesus Made the Fig Tree Withered
Jesus saw a fig tree, but He found nothing in the tree except leaves. Then he said to the tree, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.” And immediately the fig tree withered. By the time they returned the next day, what happened was that the fig tree was dry to the roots. This was a miracle. It was only a few hours after Jesus spoke that the big fig tree withered from its roots.
We can see the same verse in Matthew 21:19, He said to the tree, “Let no fruit grow on you ever again.” Immediately the fig tree withered away. Here it says “immediately the fig tree withered away”. On the next day when the disciples passed by the tree again, only a few hours passed from Jesus saying it, they saw that the fig tree had dried up to its roots. This was a miracle, because it would take a long time for a big fig tree to dry to the roots.
Who can perform this miracle? Only Jesus can do it. Because He is God Himself who came down to earth to be like man. Jesus is a miracle worker. Verse 22 says, Jesus answered them, “Believe in God!” What Jesus wants to say is, “ Believe in Me, if you believe in Me, then you too can do miraculous things yourself. ” Because Jesus is God Himself, miracles can take place in Jesus’ name. If we believe in Jesus, we can do miracles, just like what Jesus did. Because people who believe in Jesus can work miracles in the name of Jesus. But we cannot do miracles in our own name because we have no power. But if we do a miracle in the name of Jesus it can happen because Jesus is the source of miracles.
As an illustration, for example, if we ask for something from a king or a president, we are sure that the king or president will be able to give us what we ask for, because he has power, he has access to give us what we ask for. So if we ask for something in the name of Jesus, believe that we can accept it because Jesus is the ruler of this universe, because Jesus is God Himself, because Jesus is the Son of God who came to this world, because He has power over everything.
Jesus Is Able to Give and Do Anything, Because He Is Powerful
Verse 23, “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Why can mountains be removed and cast into the sea? Because mountains and seas were created by God Himself. God can throw mountains into the sea because of Him.
Verse 24, ” Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Whoever dares to say so, only those in power can say like this. Because He is the Ruler, so whatever we ask in Jesus’ name, as long as it is pleasing to Jesus it will surely be given. Therefore believe in Jesus.
He who is able to raise the dead, He is the Son of God who died on the cross to atone for your sins. We have sinned, we have fallen into sin, we have lost the glory of God, but let us come to Jesus, believe in Him. Whoever believes in Him, then he will not perish but will have eternal life. Brothers and sisters, if you have been burdened, or you may be frustrated by the number of sins you have committed, and the problems you face. Come to Jesus, He will forgive you and He can solve your problems. It may even be something impossible but Lord Jesus can perform miracles just as the fig tree can be dried up by Him.
By His Stripes, We Are Healed
For those who are sick and need a miracle of healing from Lord Jesus. Isaiah 53: 5 says, “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” Jesus bore all our sins on the cross, He paid for our sins. Not only does He bear our sins, but He also bears the pain of our sicknesses, He is lame, He is whipped, but the Word of God says, “by His stripes we are healed”.
Going back to Mark 11:25, we should forgive others, not be vindictive, no hurt feelings because this will hinder our prayers. God teaches us to love and forgive anyone. Forgiveness is indeed taught by Christ, and the example is Jesus himself. You must first forgive, in the Lord Jesus there should be no resentment. In God we must love one another, forgive one another. Forgiveness is indeed taught by Lord Jesus and He is an example of loving and forgiving. Jesus forgave all who crucified Him.
Before we pray for healing, anyone who is offended by his or her own husband and wife, or your own children, then forgive them first and then ask Jesus.
Lay your hands on the sick part, and believe that Jesus’ stripes healed. [RS/EM]
