The online KPPI (Praise and Divine Healing Service) took place again on Monday, October 19, 2020, through the Live Streaming program on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. The Word of God was delivered by Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak, taken from John 20: 1-10 about the Resurrection of Jesus.

Jesus Rose and Overcome Death

This Word of God tells about the resurrection of Jesus. On the first day of the week, very early in the morning while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been taken from the tomb. Mary Magdalene did not think that Jesus would rise, she thought that the body of Jesus was taken by someone and was taken to a place she didn’t know. Then she ran to find Simon Peter and another disciple whom Jesus loved, thought to be John. So after Peter and John heard about it, they both ran as fast as they could to the tomb of Jesus.

Arriving at the tomb, Simon Peter entered Jesus’ empty tomb and saw the shroud lying on the ground, while the sweat cloth that had been on Jesus’ head was not located near the linen cloth, but rather on the side in another place and was rolled up.

Verse 8 tells when Simon Peter and also the other disciples went into the tomb and saw it, they believed that Jesus body was not stolen but was risen. Because so far they have not understood the contents of the Scriptures which say that He must rise from the dead.

They didn’t remember that Jesus would rise again. But when they saw the position of the cloth they finally understood and believed. Even though Jesus said this three times, the disciples still did not really understand. That is why when Jesus died they lost hope.

Luke 18: 31-34,
Then He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be accomplished. For He will be delivered to the Gentiles and will be mocked and insulted and spit upon. They will scourge Him and kill Him. And the third day He will rise again.”
But they understood none of these things; this saying was hidden from them, and they did not know the things which were spoken.

Jesus said three times that He must die and rise, but the disciples did not understand what Jesus meant. Until Peter and John did not find Jesus in the tomb, they understood that Jesus rose from the dead.

To Those Who Believe in Jesus, His Sins Are Forgiven

Brothers and sisters, how Jesus, who was dead, was resurrected was a miracle, an extraordinary thing. Jesus did have to rise. If He did not rise, what about His promise of going to the Father’s house? The Word of God says that He must rise again, because if not, then our faith is in vain.

As the Word of God says in 1 Corinthians 15:17, “And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!”

If Jesus did not rise then we are still in our sins. But because He was risen, our believe is not in vain. He rose as a proof that He is a powerful God, and a God who lives in holiness. The death could not hold Him back, because He walked in holiness, so when He rose we become joyful and our sins are forgiven. So the risen Jesus also makes us believe that if we die, we will also be resurrected as long as we believe in Jesus. Jesus rose as evidence and an example that we too will be resurrected.

Acts 2:27, “For You will not leave my soul in Hades, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.”

God the Father did not allow Jesus to be in the world of the dead and did not allow His Saints to see the destruction. Jesus lived in holiness at His whole life, therefore, God the Father raised Him from the dead. Let us believe that Jesus is able to atone for our sins. Redemption is only in Jesus. He is able to atone for sin and He has proved that He is holy as He was able to rise from the dead.

God’s Word says, John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Praise God that Jesus rose and became an example for us, and we also believe that one day if Jesus comes back in the clouds, the dead will rise, and if we are still alive then our body will be transformed into a body of glory. Believe in Him then we will be saved. Jesus said, I am the way and the truth and the life. He has proved it.

By His Stripes We Become Healed

For those who have already professed to believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, welcome to the family of the kingdom of God.

You may still face challenges in your life, but the joy of God will remain with us. Pray then Jesus will help.

If you are sick and longs to be healed, let us open the Word of God from Isaiah 53: 5, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; the reward that brings salvation to us is imposed on him, and by his wounds we are healed. ”

Jesus was crushed because of our wickedness. On the cross He was really tormented. He received tortures and torment, those were carried upon Him to bring salvation to us. He paid for all our sins by dying on the cross. Only Jesus who had never sinned all through His life. He was unblemished and therefore He deserved to be sacrificed.

Lay your hands on the sick part, believe that by His stripes you are healed. [RS/EM]
