Kupang, the biggest city in East Nusa Tenggara, has witnessed the great power of God that was poured down in KPPI (Praise and Divine Healing Service) that was held in the open field of POLDA Naikoten I on 15-17 June 2006.
This service captured many healing miracle stories that happened to many sick people. Among them was a man who came from Maluku, Nicholas Luangkali. His left leg got paralysed first and then his right leg and both were paralyzed.
His paralyzed condition was caused by high blood pressure that reached 200/100 and didn’t get better even though he had already consumed medicine for 7 months.
When he was in pain, he would use his hand to lift up his leg as he sat down. If he wanted to walk, his son would carry him up. He had to walk very slowly and with difficulty.
When Yongki Luangkali, the son of Nicholas, attended the Crusade led by Rev. John Hartman from Jakarta, he got the information from Rev. Tommy Hanas about KPPI that would be held in the open field of POLDA Naikoten I, Kupang – East Nusa Tenggara on 15 – 17 June 2006.
In such condition of being difficult to walk, he left Ambon for Kupang to find a medication for his sickness together with his son.
On the second day of KPPI at Polda Naikoten I Open Field, Yongki carried up and took his father there.
A very heavy rain came down and wetted all the congregations gathered there. The electricity was finally shut down. But the heavy rain and the shutting down of the electricity didn’t stop them to praise the Lord. All the servants of God and choir kept on praising the Lord.
IT WAS NOT AN EASY FIGHT OF FAITH. BUT, IT WAS THE FIGHT OF FAITH TO VICTORY!
The worship leader said with loud voice, “Please don’t leave this place. Because if you leave, you will lose tonight. We have to prove that we have God who is able to overcome us. We believe one thing. Tonight, we want to prove to the world and all people that Jesus whom we believe is God who has power. He is able to do great miracles.”
Three thousand people, including Nicholas, stayed under the rain at the open field. Even though their body were all wet because of the rain, they had fought their faith and Jesus saw their faith.
While the song ‘Jesus Malole’ (which means Jesus is good to me) was sung, Nicholas gave all his life to God. He felt the presence of God and the touching of the Lord which made him cried. His son still held his hands in case he didn’t have enough strength.
Praise the Lord ! The power of the Holy Spirit was flowing to him. He felt the power of the Lord flowing through his body and took his diseases. Suddenly, he found strength. The power of the Holy Spirit encouraged him to step forward when the servant of God, Rev. Jacob Sumbayak, said,”Right at this moment, He is touching some of you and instantly heals you. Right now. I believe. Who has been touched and healed by God, please lift up both of your hands.”
His son was so surprised when he saw his father was healed. Suddenly, his father could run strongly. He couldn’t do it before and had to be supported by somebody. He could move his leg that was unable to move for 1 year.
“Tonight healing takes place to my leg. I am already healed,” said Nicholas as he testified his healing that night. He was very grateful that he had been healed by Jesus. All glory be to Jesus.
The day after he got healed, he can run, jump and walk upstair and downstair freely without other’s help.
