This time KPPI was held online and can be watched on Facebook and Youtube every Monday and Thursday each week.
This is KPPI Online which was aired on 26 March 2020.
In this service Rev. Jacob Sumbayak delivered God’s Word from Matthew 8: 1-4
When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”
Then Jesus put out his hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
Crowds flocked to follow Jesus as He descended from the hill. But a leper came to Him. 2000 years ago, a leper was considered unclean and sinful. He was exiled and could not gather with healthy people due to the disease was contagious. He had to be outside the camp or city because of it. At that time there was no cure for leprosy. There was no hope of healing for lepers. In contrast to now, there is already cure for leprosy.
But this leper dared to come to the Lord Jesus. He was brave fighting his shame against the stigma of society and public perception because it was considered an outcast. He really hoped for a miracle.
He came to Jesus he bowed down worshiping the Lord Jesus. He had faith that he would be healed by the Lord Jesus. He trusted Jesus is God and comes from God. That is why he worshiped the Lord Jesus. He put his trust that Jesus was able to cure him.
Although he knew that his sickness could not be cured, he still believed that Jesus was able to heal him.
He said,” Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”
This is a real belief that the Lord Jesus can heal even though there was no cure for leprosy at that time.
In the history of man, many diseases did not have medicine at first. In the past, various illnesses such as tuberculosis had no cure and ended in death. Until humans were blessed by God and found cure for tuberculosis. The same thing also for diseases such as AIDS, HIV, Cancer, there were no cure yet.
Praise the Lord for all medical personnel and medicine. But while all ways are closed there is Jesus who is able to heal us.
Likewise now, everyone is so afraid of the Covid-19 virus, because no medicine has been found. Many countries compete to make the vaccine.
If we come to Jesus, just like the leper who came to Him 2000 years ago, by truly believing and worshiping Jesus, then Jesus can perform miracles for us.
Verse 3 says, Then Jesus put out his hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
When coming to beg, worship, and ask, “If God wants, God can heal me.” Jesus will stretch out his hand and touch us.
Jesus is able to do miracles. He can perform miracles as long as we trust in Him. Jesus can heal us as long as we believe in Him.
What Must Be Done To Get Recovery?
If you are willing to be cured, the first thing to do is put your trust in Jesus, since He is the Son of God who came down from heaven and died on the cross. He shed His blood and hung on the cross. He was severely tortured, whipped and because of His stripes we are healed.
To get the healing, come to Him, ask forgiveness for our sins, believe in His forgiveness and ask the Lord Jesus come into our hearts. Then believe that His stripes heal our pain.
Whatever our sicknesses are, even if they can not be cured like Covid-19 virus, believe that the Lord Jesus is able to heal us. Jesus stays the same in His power, then, now, and forever. He remains powerful. By Jesus’ wounds we are healed.
1 Peter 2: 24
By whose stripes you are healed
This Word of God never lies, yes and amen. Trust in the Lord Jesus. Whatever our illnesses are, believe that He is able to heal.[rch/lyd]
