The Word of God, delivered by Rev Jacob B Sumbayak , this time take the theme “ Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life , From John 11 : 1-44 “ The Death and Resurrection of Lazarus.

Heal by the struggle of faith

At the previous KPPI, the theme was submitted “Be according your faith” Frequently, the healing by Lord Jesus, because the person has been fight it out, to find Jesus and trust Him that He is able to heal our sickness.

As an example, is from a woman who had suffered from a hemorrhage for twelve years. In a weak condition, she still believes and she had been saying to herself, “If I only touch His outer robe, I will be healed.” And she was healed. Her faith, bring it to her healing.

Jesus turning and seeing her said, “Your faith has made you well.” Leave safely and at once the woman was completely healed.

I am the Resurrection and the Life

Now, we are going to see, how the death and resurrection of Lazarus. John 11: 1-44, tell us, that Jesus on purpose delayed His coming to Lazarus who was seriously ill. So when He arrived at their house, they found that Lazarus was dead for 4 days.

Miracles that Jesus do, not because there are believers, that Lazarus will be raised. He was do it, because Jesus loves Lazarus , and He want to show , that He is the one who is sent by Father God

John 11: 4 When Jesus heard this, He said, “This sickness will not end in death; but for the glory and honor of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified by it.”  The Miracle that happened to Lazarus, for the Son of God may be glorified by Him

In addition, so that students learn to believe, as He said: and for your sake I am glad that I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.” John 11: 15

Marta and Maria, are favorite disciple of Jesus, both of them believes that, if Jesus was there, of course Lazarus, won’t die and Lazarus definitely healed. They have no faith, that their brother will be resurrected, Maria and Marta regret it, because Jesus was too late, when Lazarus has died.

So when Jesus arrived in Bethany, Lazarus’s villages, Jesus told to Marta : Your brother will rise, But Marta replied, I know that he will rise in the resurrection on the last day

Jesus said to her, “I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in Me will live even if he dies; and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”

This is the different, between a woman who had suffered from a hemorrhage and Bartimeus was blind, or Jairus’s son who was resurrected because of his father’s faith.

In this situation no one believes, but Jesus still resurrected Lazarus had already been in the tomb four days. After Jesus pray, He had said this, He shouted with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” and Lazarus rose from the grave.

Jesus did it so that all would believe, that Jesus was indeed sent by God, and He is the resurrection and life itself.

So that whoever believes and trusts in Him as Savior shall not perish, but have eternal life. Even if he dies, he will rise when He came. [pau/lyd]
