The Word of God was delivered by Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak, taken from Mark 5: 1-20 about Jesus delivering a demon possessed man.

Jesus the Son of God, Satan is very Scared and Subdued before Him

This event took place in Gerasa, in an area where Jewish didn’t live there. This demon-possessed person was like a madman. For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.

When Jesus arrived, this person came to worship. It turned out that the demons who possessed him knew and were very afraid of Jesus. He loudly shouted: “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!” (Mark 5:7,NIV) These demons begged Jesus not to be tortured. Who can torment demons besides Jesus? This satan knows that this Jesus is the Son of the Most High God, who has the power not only to cast out but also to torment demons, because Jesus has the authority.

How many demons had possessed this person? The amount was so many, that was why the name was Legion. These demons asked Jesus to be transferred to the herd of pigs in that place. There were 2,000 pigs, so if at least one demon entered one pig, then there were at least 2,000 devils inside this person.

By His power, Jesus cast out the demons and when the crowd came to Jesus, they saw that the demon-possessed person sitting there, dressed and in his right mind.

We are Precious, Jesus Wants to Die on the Cross to Redeem Our Sins

Jesus is indeed the Son of God, the Messiah promised by God the Father to man, the Savior who saved mankind. Jesus was greatly feared by the power of darkness, because Jesus came from heave. Jesus is God who wants to come down to earth, humbled Himself, was born as a human being, to redeem our sins, so that we can get salvation.

Because we all have fallen into sin. Jesus knew that we can not pay the debts of our sins. That was why He wants to come to die on the cross to redeem our sins. We may want to be freed from sin, but who can guarantee that we are redeemed for our sins? Our souls are very precious to God. We were born not by accident, we are in God’s plan. God knows us well, since we were woven in our mother’s womb, He knows our names and He even knows the number of hair on our heads. Our value is very valuable in His eyes. Jesus even sacrificed Himself to redeem our sins.

How great is God’s love for us. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish, but have eternal life.”

God has been waiting for us to come to Him. Jesus loves us and wants to forgive our sins. This is such a very special day. We can receive salvation, get our freedom and have our sins forgiven by the blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross. Jesus sacrificed Himself to save us, because of His great love.

One of the greatest miracles that happens is when we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. You will feel an extraordinary life change, and God’s love is with you. He loves you so much, even the Word of God says that the hair on our heads is numbered by Him. He really cares for us. More over, if He cares for a little sparrow, He will care or us more.

John 1:12 says: “But all who received him were given the power to become sons of God, that is, those who believed in his name”. Welcome to the family of the Kingdom of God.

Jesus has the Power to Heal All Sicknesses

For those of you who are sick and want to be healed, believe that Jesus is able to heal you. Jesus was able to cast out demons, so if any of you are under the bondage of sins, Jesus can deliever you. As in Mark 4:39, He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. Jesus is very powerful, even the winds obeyed. The wind died down and the lake was completely calm.

The Word of God in Mark 5, tells of Jesus healing a woman who was bleeding and also raising Jairus’ son who had just died. Verses 41-42, He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”). Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished.

Jesus was able to perform miracles, cast out demons, heal the sick and raise the dead. And Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever.
If you believe that Jesus is able to heal you, then according to His Word (Isaiah 53: 5), by His stripes we are healed, then you are healed. [RS/EM]
