The online KPPI (Praise and Divine Healing Service) took place again on Monday, September 28, 2020 through the Live Streaming program on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.

The Word of God was delivered by Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak, taken from Luke 5:17-26 about a paralyzed man being healed.

Jesus Is Powerful to Forgive Sins and Heal

Reading from this scripture make us think who were these brave and courageous people? With strong-willed they went up to the roof of somebody’s house with the sick, and tore down the roof. Of course these people were the ones who had faith and belief.

They were so determined and courageous, because they had belief and faith. They knew that it was the moment to meet Jesus or they would never have the time anymore . Their strong will and their strong courage produced what they believed, because the person they brought was healed. The sick person also got what he believed. In fact, not only did he get well, but he got the most valuable thing, that he was forgiven by God. God’s forgiveness is the greatest miracle in our life, this was what this paralyzed man received.

The Pharisee in his heart said, “Who is this person who blasphemes God because no one able to forgive but God Himself?” It is true that only God can forgive but they did not believe that Jesus is God Himself. Why can Jesus forgive sins? Because He is God Himself. No one can forgive sins except God, and Jesus proved that He is God, by giving forgiveness to this paralyzed man. And to prove that He is a powerful God, He raised this paralyzed man.

Jesus is God, the Word Became Man

Jesus is God Himself. This is recorded in the Word of God in John 1: 1-3, “In the beginning was the Word; The Word is with God and the Word is God. It was in the beginning with God. Everything was created by Him and without Him nothing has become of anything that has been created. ”

The Word was Jesus and the Word was God himself. In Jesus, God the Father created all things because Jesus is the Word.

Colossians 1:16, “For in Him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things were created by Him and for Him. ”

In Jesus, God created all things, because Jesus is God Himself, that is why He is able to forgive sins. Jesus is God Himself so He can forgive sins, the sins of the paralyzed and the sins of all of us. This paralyzed man was forgiven of his sins and then really rose up and picked up the bed and went home.

Jesus is very powerful, but He wanted to come to earth to be human like us. Born of a virgin Mary in a stable in Bethlehem and witnessed by the angels. He was just like us that needed to eat and drink, grew up, and helped His parents to work. That was why Jesus often called Himself as the Son of Man, because He was God who was willing to become human. So the Son of Man is God Himself, who is able to forgive sins and heal. He is very powerful and able to do all kinds of miracles.

In verse 23, Jesus knew what was on the minds of the Pharisees and scribes. Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? For Jesus both are easy, because He is God Himself. But for us it is impossible to do those things.

If we believe in Him, we will not be disappointed, we are fortunate because we believe in God who loves us so much, who wants to lay down His life for us.

John 10: 17-18 says: “My Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have the power to give it and the power to take it back. This is the work that I received from my Father. “

When he was about to be arrested, when He says I am He, everyone who was going to arrest Him drew back and fell to the ground (John 18:6). No one could take His life. He Himself wanted to lay down His life on the cross, because that is the only way to atone for our sins, which is by His unblemished, holy blood.

Tonight believe in Him and receive Him, invite Jesus into your heart to be your Lord and Savior. Declare your faith in Jesus, so that your sins will be forgiven.

How happy is the person whom God forgives because there is peace in his heart. How awesome if we are raised to be the children of God, He becomes a Father to us.

By His Stripes We are Healed

Our wonderful Father will also provide healing for those of us who are sick. Come to Him today, do not wait for tomorrow because today is the right moment for us to be healed.

Isaiah 53: 5, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; the reward that brings salvation to us is imposed on him, and by his wounds we are healed. ”

This was what Jesus bore on the cross. He suffered so much and was chastised to give us salvation. He bore the wages of our rebellion. He knew how we suffered because of sicknesses, so He gave His stripes so that we can be healed.

Believe in the Word of God because only Jesus is able to heal us. Lay your hands on the sick part, believe that by His stripes we are healed. [RS/EM]
