KPPI (Praise and Divine Healing Service) online took place again on Monday, October 12, 2020, through the Live Streaming program on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.

The Word of God was delivered by Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak, taken from Matthew 7: 7-11, “Effective prayers”.

Matthew 7: 7-11
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?  If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

The Heavenly Father Gives Good Things to Those Who Ask Him

Here is Jesus’ own words, He guarantees that whoever asks will surely be given, whoever seeks then will find; whoever knocks then the door will be opened. Then Jesus taught through parables as mentioned in verse 9. It is impossible for a father in the world if his son asks for bread then he will be given a stone because surely a father loves his son. Jesus said that even a wicked father in the world knows how to give the best to his children. Let’s say that he is a murderer or a drug dealer or a robbers that everyone fears, but he is a father, then he will give good things to his son.

How much more the Father in Heaven, will surely give good things to all who ask Him. We can trust this. If we ask we will receive, if we seek we will find, if we knock then the door will be opened to us.

So if we are seeking the truth, surely the Father in Heaven will make us receive the truth. If we seek peace, surely the Father will give us peace. If we seek forgiveness, surely the Father will forgive us. If we seek salvation surely the Father will give salvation. Jesus also said that if we knock on the door, it will be opened. So the guarantee is a surety. Who is the guarantee? Jesus Himself.

This is not just a matter of what to eat and drink. Because when it comes to eating and drinking, the Word of God says the Father in Heaven knows that we need to eat, drink, clothes or house. For all those things, Jesus said not to worry, because even the birds of the air are fed. So, more than that, ask and seek truth, peace, salvation, and forgiveness.

Matthew 6: 31-32, “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

Therefore, effective prayer is for something more than that. What is that? The assurance of salvation, righteousness, peace, and forgiveness of sins. Ask that and it will come to you. You will definitely find it, because your Father in Heaven will certainly give it.

Believe in Jesus and You Will Become the Children of the Father in Heaven

Will we receive what we ask for? Will we find what we seek? Will we be opened the door if we knock? To experience this, the prerequisite is we must become the children of the Father in Heaven so that the Father in Heaven will give us what we ask for, what we are seeking in this life, and what is the true meaning of our lives. Seek and it will surely be given by the Father in Heaven.

How to become children of the Father in Heaven? There is only one requirement, believe in Jesus, because Jesus is the Son of God who came from Heaven to earth to tell about the Father who loves us. Trust in Jesus and we will become children of God.

John 1:12, But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.

So whoever believes in Jesus, to them He gave the right to become the children of the Father in Heaven. And the Father in Heaven becomes our Father. It was not easy for Jesus to become the way to the Father in Heaven. Jesus had to come down to earth to be human and lived like any other human being and had to suffer and die on the cross. He gave His life, shed His blood, and died on the cross. Jesus became the sacrifice, the payment that our sins might be paid for. How did He pay it for us? With His own life.

When Jesus died on the cross we were not only redeemed from sin and entered the Kingdom of Heaven, but our status in Heaven was also not strangers or guests or angels, but children of the Father in Heaven. This is amazing. Brothers and sisters, if only we were invited as guests by a King, we would be very happy and proud, but it must have been only a few hours there and then we returned home. But if we are invited and adopted as children then we will not only become guests but become children who live in the palace with the King who is our Father.

Will you be children of God? Will you be willing to have a Father in Heaven? If you want to, believe in Jesus, He is the way to the Father in Heaven. If we believe in Jesus then we become children of the Father in Heaven and the Word of God in Matthew 7: 7-8 applies to you.

Ask According to God’s Will, Not to Satisfy Lust

James 4: 3, “You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. “

Now we have a good Father. God said that even the evil father in the world knows how to do good things to his children, how much more our Father in Heaven will do for us. Ask, and He will give. But, do not only to spend it on our lusts. The Father in Heaven will give us what we ask for.

If you really want to be healed, ask in faith, then the Father in Heaven will fulfill our request. The good Father must long for us to be healed, do not be deceived by thinking that Father in Heaven does not care for us. The truth is that the Father in Heaven cares for us. Believe that our Father is a very good Father, He must long to provide healing. He has given Jesus to be the way of salvation and healing.

Isaiah 53:5, But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

All the suffering and torment Jesus endured, He became the sacrifice for our sins. Jesus was whipped before He was crucified on the cross so that his whole body was filled with stripes and in great pain. But the Word of God says that by His wounds we are healed.

Hebrews 13:8  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Jesus Christ is the same. If 2000 years ago He healed and raised up the dead, even now He is able to do it for you. [RS/HN/EM]
