Christmas is the day we celebrate the birth of the Messiah who was promised by God to redeem our sins. The Messiah who was promised by God to redeem our sins was prophesied by the Prophets hundreds of years before the birth of the Lord Jesus:

The first: Born of the line of David.

2 Samuel 7: 12-13 (NKJV)

“When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

This Word of God was God’s promise to David a thousand years ago that the Messiah would be born from the line of David. I will set up your seed after you,” declared the Lord’s promise, and this was fulfilled because Joseph was a descendant of David.

Second: Born of a virgin

Isaiah 7:14(NKJV) Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

Jesus was born to a virgin named Mary. When the angel came to Mary to tell her that she would become pregnant, Mary had not been married yet, but just engaged to Joseph. Jesus’ birth was really not because of a husband and wife relationship, but because of the power of the Lord Most High.

Third: Born in the city of Bethlehem

Micah 5: 2 (NKJV) “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old,

When Mary was pregnant and was about to give birth, along with Joseph, they went from the city of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David which was named Bethlehem because Joseph came from the family and descendant of David. When they arrived in Bethlehem, it was time for Mary to give birth, and she gave birth to a Son who was named Jesus.

Let’s believe in Jesus because He is truly the Messiah as prophesied hundreds of years ago.

Whoever believes in Jesus will be called as the children of God and this is the greatest miracle because we are saved and will be resurrected with Jesus Christ. [YF/RB/EM]
