The Online Program of KPPI (Praise and Divine Healing Service) was held on Thursday, February 4, 2021. It was a live-streaming program that could be watched through Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. The Word of God was delivered by Rev. Jacob Sumbayak, taken from Matthew 15: 21-28 about the faith of a Canaanite woman.

The Faith of a Canaanite Woman

Jesus arrived in the region of Tyre and Sidon. These regions were outside of Israel. Then came a Canaanite woman, a Greek, a Syrophenician by nationality. So this woman was not a Jew.

This woman shouted in a very loud voice. She cried out to Jesus by calling Him His title, Son of David. She had hope in Jesus, but Jesus didn’t answer her at all. Even the disciples asked Jesus to send this woman away because she had disturbed them with her screams. Jesus replied that He was only sent to the Israelites. Jesus seemed to say that He was not sent to her nation.

But did this woman give up? No, but instead she came and worshiped Jesus and said, “Lord, help me!” But Jesus replied, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” This statement seemed to be a rejection. If this woman didn’t really believe in Jesus, she would have gone away feel offended. However, this woman did not give up and even humbled herself and kept on asking, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”

This woman remained steadfast in her faith. She had such an extraordinary faith, even though she didn’t believe in Judaism because she was not an Israelite. Moreover, she did not know about God, but she believed that Jesus was God, the Messiah, the Savior, the Son of David.

Because of her faith, Jesus eventually said to her (verse 28, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” Jesus found great faith in this woman. Jesus never rejects the gentiles. What Jesus said was to test the faith of this woman.

Jesus Does Not Reject Anyone, Any Nation, As Long As They Believe in Him

Maybe you ask, “Can a person who is non-Jew believe in Jesus and get healed?” The answer is yes, as long as that person believes that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God who came from heaven.

On several occasions during His ministry, Jesus saved non-Jews, such as the Roman centurion. This centurion strongly believed that Jesus could heal his sick servant even without having to come to his house, but only said a word. So Jesus said to this centurion in Matthew 8:10, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!

Brothers and sisters, God never rejects anyone. As long as you believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God who came to earth to redeem our sins and heal us. God never rejects anyone who has faith to seek Him, whose heart is always searching for God, who keeps on seeking the Lord who is able to provide the assurance of salvation, the forgiveness of sins, and healing.

God really values everyone, whoever he or she is. As long as that person truly seeks Him, God will come to him. Just like this woman who was not a Jew, who was never taught the laws of Moses, but she believed that Jesus was the Son of God. Even though she was tested in such a way, she did not draw back, she still believed in Jesus. So that Jesus said, “O woman, great is your faith!

How happy it is if Jesus calls us to have great faith. Whoever seeks God, then God will reward him. Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

If you want to be forgiven and want to be delivered from the bondage of sin that always controls you and enslaves you. If you want to be freed from the carnal desires that always control you. If you long for God to set you free, then today you can meet the Lord who is willing to deliver you, His name is Jesus.

Whoever believes in Him will be freed from the bondage of sin and will be saved. Jesus took away all our sins. He has paid the debt of our sins on the cross.

Everyone Who Believes in Jesus will Be Saved and Healed

Isaiah 53: 5, “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”

What happened on the cross? Jesus suffered, He was stabbed and tormented to death for our transgressions on the cross. He was wounded, beaten, scourged so that the chastisement and the beating which were carried upon Him bring salvation to us.

Jesus has paid for our weaknesses and sins on the cross. Jesus also has borne all our sicknesses and by His stripes we are healed. Today if you want to accept and truly believe in Jesus, you will be saved, forgiven, and if you are sick, you will surely be healed.

John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

For those of you who have believed in Jesus, you have received the greatest miracle which is eternal salvation.

For those who are sick, have faith, just like this Canaanite woman who received what she asked from Jesus because she believed that Jesus is the Son of David. Have faith that by His stripes you are healed.

Not only did Jesus heal two thousand years ago, until today Jesus is still able to heal you because Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever (Hebrews 13: 8). Whatever your sicknesses are, whether minor or severe, even if the disease is incurable, lay your hand on the part of the body that is sick, have faith that by His stripes you are healed. [yf/hn/em]
