The online KPPI (Praise and Divine Healing Service) took place on Monday, February 8, 2021, through a Live Streaming program that can be watched on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.

The Word of God was delivered by Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak, taken from Mark 4: 35-41 about “The Windstorm Is Calmed.”

Jesus Is Powerful to Calm the Storm

In the evening Jesus and the disciples were in a boat in the middle of the lake. Then a very great windstorm raged and the waves burst into the boat so that the boat began to fill with water. This condition was very scary. Even though Jesus was in that boat, the disciples panicked, and they said to Lord Jesus, “Teacher, don’t you care if we perish?”

Then Jesus only said two words, “Peace, be still!” Instantly the wind ceased and the lake became calm. It was a great miracle. It was no need to wait any longer, the lake calmed instantly.

At that time Jesus rebuked the disciples because they didn’t believe. They were very afraid and said to one another, “Who is this man, that the wind and the lake obey him?” Truly this man was Jesus. He is the Son of God who is so powerful. The wind and the lake submitted to Him because He is God Himself. In Him, all things were created. He is very powerful.

Jesus Give His Life to Atone for Human’s Sins

But why could He be crucified? Because He was willing to be crucified. As written in the following paragraph,

John 10: 17-18,  “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.  No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”

No one can take His life, but He did want to lay down His life. For if He did not lay down His life, no one was able to arrest and crucify Him, because He was very powerful.

We remember when Jesus was about to be arrested, and Jesus spoke with power, “I am He,” they drew back and fell to the ground (John 18:6). No one was able to arrest Him. But Jesus Himself gave Himself up so that He could be arrested.

Matthew 26:53, “Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels?”

Twelve legions of angels, meaning more than 80,000 angels. Whereas one angel who was sent by God was able to kill 185,000 Assyrian soldiers.

Isaiah 37:36 Then the angel of the Lord went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses—all dead.

What would happen if God sent 80,000 angels? But Lord Jesus did surrender himself to be arrested, and He was taken into trial, He was tortured and crucified. It was Jesus Himself who gave Himself to substitute us because, in fact, we are the ones who should be punished because we are the ones who sinned. He became a sacrifice and payment so that He died on the cross. His blood was shed as the payment to redeem us all.

That was exactly what happened. He really wanted to lay down His life for us. Our good deeds are worthless and cannot pay for our sins. Only the blood of Jesus can pay for all our sins.

Jesus is the Son of God and He is truly powerful, Jesus taught His disciples to believe and not be afraid. Today He also teaches us to believe in Him.

Have Faith in Jesus, You Will be Saved and Healed

Isaiah 53: 5, “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”

He was stabbed, He was crushed, He was tortured, until He died. All punishment were put upon Him so that we are forgiven and saved. That is the love of God. The love of God did not keep Him silent but He came down and became a human being. He was willing to be human so that He could redeem us. He became humiliated so that we who are humiliated and unclean can be sanctified because of His Blood.

This is the best time to believe. Let us come to Him and ask His forgiveness for all our sins. We know that we can’t be set free from the bondage of sin, but Jesus died on the cross so we can be freed.

John 1:12, But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.

As the children of God, wherever the Father is, we will be there. This is the greatest miracle of our lives, which is salvation.

For those who need a miracle of healing, remember God’s Word in Isaiah 53: 5 above.
Jesus was crucified, He was scourged and was wounded. And by His stripes we are healed. Whatever your sickness is, lay your hands on the sick part of your body. Let us pray and believe, this is the time for us to be healed. [rs/hn/em]
