The Online Program of KPPI (Praise and Divine Healing Service) was held on Thursday, February 18, 2021. It was a live-streaming program that could be watched through Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. The Word of God was delivered by Rev. Jacob B Sumbayak, taken from Mark 6: 45-52 about Jesus walking on the water.
This event occurred after Jesus performed a miracle, feeding five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fish, as was delivered in the previous program. Because of the series of miracles that were performed, the people wanted to make Jesus king by force, but He refused it and departed to the mountain to pray because Jesus did not come to this world to be king but to be the Savior of men.
Jesus told His disciples to get into the boat and go ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, and He also sent away the crowds who were following Him.
Jesus Performed Five Miracles at Once
We can learn here that there were five miracles done by Jesus.
The first miracle, Mark 6:48… ” Then He saw them straining at rowing, for the wind was against them.” Within a distance of 2-3 miles from the beach while Jesus was on the hill and it was night, but Jesus was able to see that the disciples were struggling hard to row the boat because of the headwind. Who is able to do that? Only God can do it. We believe God can see what we do, whether good or bad things. Jesus could see what was happening to His disciples, so He came to them. Jesus too can see what is happening to us, whether we are sick, in pain, or in despair, Jesus can see us.
Secondly, when Jesus saw how hard they rowed the boat because of the headwind, instantly Jesus came to them. It is a miracle. In fact, the disciples had to row for 7-8 hours to be in the middle of the lake. However, Jesus was able to reach the middle of the lake instantly. Jesus could be transported miraculously anywhere and at anytime. Who can do this? Only the Son of God Most High can do this.
Thirdly, Jesus was able to walk on the water. Who is able to walk on the water? Only the Son of God can do this. The disciples were afraid when they saw Jesus walking on the water and even they thought that He was a ghost. Sometimes we are so afraid in our lives that when the presence of Jesus comes to us at midnight, we are afraid too. But Jesus said , “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid!”
Fourth, when Jesus got into the boat, the wind ceased. Who can do this? Only Jesus, the Son of God. The Word of God in Matthew 14:33 says that the people in the boat worshiped Him and said, “Truly You are the Son of God.”
Fifth, in an instant, the boat arrived at the shore they were aiming for. Jesus was not only able to be taken up miraculously, but He was also able to make everyone in that boat, event he boat itself were taken up miraculously.
Jesus was able to perform miracles because Jesus is the Son of God Most High. He is God who was willing to become human. Jesus was powerful and able to perform miracles, but He was willing to become human. Jesus did not want to be king because that was not what He came to earth for. He was willing to suffer for us, die on the cross, so that our sins will be forgiven. Because no one can pay for our sins unless there is holy blood that can pay for our sins. So, Jesus did it all.
Jesus Is Powerful to Deliver Us from Sin
Jesus was wounded and He endured all torture, affliction, and humiliation. Treated as a big criminal, Jesus was punished on the cross by the Romans. All our humiliation, uncleanness, wickedness was brought upon Him so that we might be saved. He was insulted so that we might be glorified. All penalties were inflicted upon Him so that we will be free from punishment.
After we accept Jesus, believe that Jesus has delivered us from a life or sin nature, and will not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). We have become a new person.
Romans 7:19, “For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.”
Maybe we experience the same thing, we want to do good things, but we always do bad things. However, if Jesus has redeemed us, then we have been set free from the bondage of sin. We can do the good things that we want to do. There is freedom in God, there is freedom from sin, and from a sinful nature. We have become the children of God.
Jesus Is Able to Heal, Today and Forever
Isaiah 53: 5 “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
Brothers and sisters, Jesus was flogged by Roman soldiers before He was hung on the cross. The pain He endured made us healed, and by His stripes we are healed. Jesus is still able to heal us because He is the same today and forever. Because Jesus died, was buried, and rose. He is alive, He is still in power to this day, and He is able to heal us.
For those of you who have believed and longed to be healed, believe that miracles will continue to happen. Although it is online, miracles still take place. Nothing is impossible with God and nothing is impossible for a believer. Our God who stopped the moon and sun in Joshua’s day and who parted the red sea in Moses’ day, is able to heal us. [rs/hn/em]
