The Online Program of KPPI (Praise and Divine Healing Service) was held on Thursday, April 15, 2021. It was a live-streaming program that could be watched through Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. The Word of God was delivered by Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak, John 21: 1-14 about about Jesus appearing to His disciples on the shore of Lake Tiberias.

Jesus Appeared to the Disciples Who Felt No Longer Worthy to Follow Him

This is the third appearance of Jesus to His disciples which is on the shore of Lake Tiberias. Why did Jesus’ disciples return to go fishing again and return to their old life? They felt unworthy because of their sin. They felt unworthy to follow Jesus. When Peter went to sea, the other disciples also joined in, and what happened when they went to sea? It turned out that they did not get any fish, even though they had been fishing all night long.

Jesus knew the conditions of the disciples, but Jesus was patient. Jesus did not scold the disciples. Even from afar, Jesus asked if there were any food. And when they answered that they didn’t have any food, Jesus asked them to cast their nets to the right side of their boat. It’s not the right time to do fishing in the morning and near the shore. In fact, they got so multitude of big fish.
This is a strange incident. Therefore John immediately realized and knew, “It is the Lord!” When Peter heard this, Peter, who was not wearing clothes, immediately put on his clothes and immediately jumped into the water to meet Jesus.
They felt guilty because when Jesus was crucified no one was near Him. Instead, it was the female disciples and John who were watching from afar. Where were the others? They were not there when Jesus was crucified. So, they all felt guilty and unworthy before the Lord Jesus, especially Peter. Because he had denied Jesus. On the night Jesus was arrested, Jesus told Peter that he would deny Jesus three times.

Matthew 26: 31-35, Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written: ‘I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee.” Peter answered and said to Him, “Even if all are made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble.” Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” Peter said to Him, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” And so said all the disciples.
Peter said to Him, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You.” All the other disciples said the same way.

But it turned out that Peter denied Jesus. Matthew 26 :75 says, “And Peter remembered the word of Jesus who had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” So he went out and wept bitterly.”
Peter knew he was guilty and he wanted to go back to be a fisherman and leave the wonderful time with Jesus. But when he heard John said, “It is the Lord!” Peter could not bear to immediately meet Jesus, because in fact he really loved Jesus.

Jesus Says to Peter, “Feed My Sheep.”

John 21: 15-17
So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.” He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep”.

Peter’s heart was breaking to hear what Jesus said. He loved God, but also he felt very guilty. Peter’s days must have been very stressful for him. When Jesus said this Peter knew that Jesus loved him and forgave him. Peter’s heart must be breaking when Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.”
Three times Peter denied Jesus, three times Jesus also asked him, “Do you love me?” Three times he answered that he loved God, and three times Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.”
Jesus knew His disciples loved Him even though they made mistakes. But their deep regrets must have been recognized by Jesus and this had led to forgiveness.

John 21:18-19, Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.” This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, “Follow Me.”

Jesus told what would happen to Peter’s life in his old age. Peter, after the incident, really lived as a faithful follower of Christ. Peter finally died as a martyr who was crucified upside down. That is the story about Peter who loved God. He once was guilty, but he truly regretted his sin. He once felt unworthy but Jesus was patient and willing to forgive him.

Today, for those of you who hear this broadcast, maybe you don’t know Jesus yet, or just found out after hearing the Word of God, or maybe you are wandering away from God. For those of you who want to believe in Jesus, for those of you who want to return to Jesus, this is the right day to return to God. He is our only hope.

Jesus Christ is the same, He is Able to heal you

If you already have Jesus in your heart, believe that Jesus will heal you and help you through the hard problems you are facing now.
Isaiah 53: 5, “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
For those of you who want to receive healing, if we believe and have accepted Jesus, then believe that Jesus is able to heal you. Maybe you experience tremendous problems and fears, then you will experience peace from God. [yf/hn/em]
