The online KPPI (Praise and Divine Healing Service) took place on Monday, April 12, 2021 through a Live Streaming program that can be watched on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
The Word of God was delivered by Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak, taken from John 20: 19-29 about Jesus appearing to His disciples.
Jesus Rose and Appeared to His Disciples
At that time the disciples were afraid. They were afraid of being caught by the Jews who had killed His Master. So they gathered in one room with the doors locked. Suddenly Jesus appeared in their midst saying, “Peace to you!” How did Jesus suddenly appear while all the doors were closed? Yes, because Jesus is alive and has a resurrection body that can break through walls.
Luke 24: 36-39, Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.” But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit. And He said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.”
In fear and shocked, the disciples thought that they had seen a ghost. But Jesus did not criticize their fear. He said, “It is I Myself. Touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.” Jesus wanted to show that He really lives and rose from the dead, and He is not a ghost. At this they rejoiced. But Thomas, who was not with them at that time, did not believe until he proved himself.
John 20: 24-25, Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”
Blessed Are Those Who Do Not See Yet Believe
Eight days later Jesus’ disciples gathered again in a house and Thomas was with them. While the doors were locked, Jesus came and He stood in their midst and said, “Peace to you!”
John 20: 26-29, And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
Jesus asked Thomas to reach his finger and put it on the wound, so that Thomas would believe. Jesus was very patient with His disciples’ unbelief. Finally Thomas confessed, “O my Lord and my God!” How sorry he was, and finally Thomas believed!
Often times we also struggle to believe in Jesus. But Jesus is patient, and right now says to us, “Peace to and believe”.
John 20:29, “Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
We are the blessed ones if we believe in Jesus, that Jesus is the Messiah, died on the cross, was buried and rose. Today, will we believe in Jesus? Jesus did rise, this is not imaginary and He is not a ghost. Jesus showed His disciples a new body, the resurrection body. Jesus did rise and the witnesses were many.
When Jesus died on the cross, many saw Him. When He was buried, the disciples also witnessed, likewise when He was resurrected many of the disciples witnessed it. So this testimony is indeed valid (John 8:17).
The witnesses to the resurrection of Jesus were not only 2 or 3 people but more than 500 people. Jesus rose, this is real, hundreds of people had witnessed it.
1 Cor 15: 5-6, “…and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep”.
On this day, we don’t see Jesus, but will you believe? Blessed are those who believe in Jesus, He is the guarantee of our salvation. Jesus was tormented, humiliated, and died in punishment, Jesus took what we should have received.
Whoever believes in Jesus will be saved. If we die, then in the time when Jesus comes, then we too will be resurrected, and we will have a resurrected body just like Jesus. Believe in Jesus, He is the only way to the heaven.
By His Stripes We Are Healed
Isaiah 53: 5, But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the reward of salvation for us was laid upon him, and by his wounds we were healed.
Before Jesus climbed the cross, Jesus had stripes all over His body. Jesus suffered, was whipped in such a way, that His flesh was being ripped. But the unimaginable suffering of Jesus, made us receive healing. By the stripes of Jesus we are healed.
No matter how sick we are, today let us have hope in God and His miracles. According to the Word of God, by the stripes of Jesus we are healed.
Just believe, lay hands on the sick part of our body, pray with faith by the stripes of Jesus we are healed! Miracles existed, because Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13: 6). The miracles that happened two thousand years ago, even today Jesus is still able to perform those miracles. [rs/hn/em]
