KPPI (Praise and Divine Healing Service) online took place again through the Live Streaming program on Facebook and You Tube, on Monday, 4 May 2020.
God’s word was delivered by Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak, the theme was “Jesus Walked on Water” taken from Matthew 14:22-33.
This event took place after the miracle of Jesus feeding 5,000 people with only five bread and two fish. It is said that the crowd was then told to go home. Even His disciples were asked to go before Him to the other side by boat. Then Jesus went up on the mountain by Himself to pray, when it was night.
The disciples in the boat had trouble because they were dealing with headwind, the direction of the wind that was opposite to the direction of the boat. This wind made the boat adrifted and it was difficult to move forward. If it was estimated that they dropped the anchor at 8.00 PM, then until 3.00 AM or almost 7 hours of rowing, they had only reached about 3 miles or 5 kilometers from the coast.
Jesus Always Performs Miracles to Help
In difficult condition due to a very heavy journey in the middle of the night, strong winds and high waves, suddenly the disciples saw Jesus walking on the water. Meanwhile, they knew Jesus was praying on the mountain. They got scared and screamed, thinking it is a ghost.
But Jesus approached them and said, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be affraid.”
If we experienced this condition, maybe we would also say that. This is a miracle, because it is impossible for a human to walk on the water. Jesus did it as He saw His disciples in trouble and difficulty. He came to help them.
Then Peter cried out and answered Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” Peter was a brave disciple and he loved the Lord Jesus very much and always wanted to follow Jesus.
A miracle occurred where Peter could walk on the water. You can imagine how excited he was at that time. But while he felt the wind boisterous, he was affraid and beginning to sink and cried out, saying “Lord, save me!”
Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand, caught him and said to him “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
Then they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
This is a miracle. Those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You Are the Son of God”.
Who could walk on the water? Only Jesus could walk on the water. Merely Jesus can help you. And indeed Jesus is the Son of God who can perform miracles for us. He is the Son of God but He wanted to be like us, and was sacrificed so that we are saved. Whoever believes in Him will not perish.
God’s Word in John 3: 16 shows He loves us so much.
We are the apple of His eye. He knows and knows us one by one, wherever we are. Just like the disciples who were exhausted on the boat faced the headwind, He came to help. He is very dear to us.
The Word of God in Matthew 10: 29-31 tells the story of a very cheap sparrow, which is sold only two cents. But none of them will fall to earth without God’s permission.
And our head’s hair is known by God and all are numbered. We who love of ourselves just do not know the amount of hair on our heads. But Jesus knows, since He loves us so much.
If we feel be ignored by God, that is not true. He really loves and cares for us. He came down to earth, died on the cross to save us from our sins. In order that we receive eternal life forever.
Come…come to Jesus. Those who believe and receive Him, are given the power to become God’s children (John 1: 12), and we call Him Father. Because we have entered into the family of God.
If you are sick, whatever your illnesses, Jesus can heal your sicknesses. By His stripes we are healed. We do not need to pay anything, Jesus only asks for our faith. His power has never changed, to this day He is still able to heal.[rh/em]
