KPPI (Praise and Divine Healing Service) online took place again through the Live Streaming on Facebook and YouTube, on Thursday 7 May 2020.
The Word of God was delivered by Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak with the theme “Zacchaeus, Come Down Soon”, taken from Luke 19: 1-10.

Jesus Seeks the Lost
A man named Zacchaeus described in this passage was a chief tax collector. At that time the tax collector was not liked by people or Jewish religious leaders, because they liked to extort, made tax rates high so that people felt blackmailed. The Tax collectors were also considered as sinners, so they were excluded from Judaism. They were also looked down on because their positions were considered blackmailing the people.
But Zacchaeus the rich tax collector wanted to see Jesus when Jesus entered and crossed his city. It might be that he had already heard a lot about the miracles that the Lord Jesus performed. How did Jesus fed a-5000 people with five loaves and two fish, how did the Lord Jesus loved many people, and how did Jesus forgave sinful woman.
Though he knew that he was a person who was marginalized and rejected by society, he really wanted to see Jesus. This desire was hindered due to of his short body, but he did not despair. He shamelessly climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Jesus. Surely there was a desire in Zacchaeus’ heart to come out of his sinful life and hoped Jesus could help him.
When Jesus got closer to him, he suddenly looked up and said: “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” We know that no one told Jesus what his name was. But Jesus knew that this man named Zacchaeus was eager to see Him. As Zacchaeus had problems in his life and wanted to get out of his sins. His attempt to climb up into a sycamore tree was greatly valued by Jesus.

Jesus Called Zacchaeus Down from a Tree
Then finally Zacchaeus, the tax collector who was considered inferior by the people and the Jewish religious leaders was called in by Jesus. When Jesus said that He wanted to come and stay at his house, this surprised many people. They grumbled and talked about why He wanted to stay at a sinner’s home.
But Zacchaeus felt extraordinary happiness while he met Jesus. He really felt himself getting the answer to his life, which were deliverance and salvation as Jesus wanted to come and stay at his house.
So he said to Jesus,  “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.”
Zacchaeus felt himself was accepted by Jesus, when Jesus wanted to eat and drink in his house, so it occurred miraculous change in his life.

Jesus Comes Not to Call the Righteous, But the Sinners
In Mark 2:17 Jesus said “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
Jesus loves all lost people, all sinners and those who feel their lives are of no use. Even Jesus knows their names and Jesus wants to come so that they will receive forgiveness. Jesus does not come to call the righteous but the sinners.
At this time we have problems. If we feel unworthy due to we always do sins. Or we want to do the good but the evil we do, let us come to Jesus, like Zacchaeus who came to Him. Do not think that Jesus does not know us. Instead, God knows us well, even the amount of hair on our heads, God knows.
God knows who we are and wants to forgive us. The Lord Jesus was willing to die for us. He hung on the cross and was covered in stripes because He loves and knows us so much.
Therefore God’s word in John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish, but have eternal life.”
Whatever our sins and unworthiness, the Lord Jesus will bear it. He wants to welcome us when we want to come to Him. As Zacchaeus was so happy to receive salvation from Jesus, come and have salvation from Jesus.[rch/em]
