KPPI (Praise and Divine Healing Service) online took place again on Monday, 29 June 2020 through the Live Streaming program on Facebook and YouTube.

God’s word was delivered by Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak, which was taken from Luke 5: 27-32 that tells about Levi a tax collector who followed Jesus.

Leave All Things and Follow Jesus

Levi or Matthew was a tax collector. From the side of life he was well-off, including the rich. Indeed, much of his wealth came from extorting the Israelites by setting taxes as high as possible, but left it to the Roman government as low as possible, and the rest went into his own pocket.

When Jesus came to him, something extraordinary occurred. Suddenly Jesus said, “Follow me” There was no beginning of the previous conversation. There was no teaching in front of him. Suddenly Jesus said,” Follow me.”
Then in verse 28 says “So he left all, rose up, and followed Him.”

Imagine Levi was an official. Surely he had a position and had a special place in his work. But when Jesus called, “Follow Me”, he left everything immediately and followed Jesus. Actually what happened to Levi was known by Jesus. So He said, “Follow Me”, and Levi really did make that decision.

Surely this was not a sudden decision that he had made, but there was already a long struggle in Levi. Maybe in his life Levi felt that despite being well-off, he was a sinner. He felt himself unworthy, something was lacking, and his life would end in vain.

He felt that he had committed sins, but who could get him out of this bondage of the sins? He longed to come out of the sins, but had not yet got a way out of his sins. Who could guarantee he could be forgiven?

Tough everything was sufficient, it did not make Levi feel calm. Levi knew that he could not atone for sins from himself. But he had not found who could save him, who could guarantee that he was forgiven. Could he come into the kingdom of heaven if he died?

It might had been years this struggle happened to Levi. For a long time Levi sought and sought, who could forgive his sins, but had not yet found. Surely he had heard about the name of Jesus who could perform miracles and wanted to get along with sinners, and wanted to talk with people who were considered marginal. He knew that Jesus was the answer in his life.

Jesus Comes To Call Sinners To Repent

One day at his place of work suddenly Jesus came and said “Follow Me”, Levi immediately left everything and followed Jesus.

As he was so delighted, Levi held a great feast at his home by inviting a great number of tax collectors to eat. So the Pharisees got annoyed because Jesus ate with sinners who were considered trash.

Jesus answered and said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.
I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

Listen to the Jesus’ word, brothers and sisters. Maybe this is the right time for you. “I have come to call the sinners so that they repent.”

Will you accept the helping hand of Jesus today? You may already be tired of walking alone in sins. Maybe already feel depressed, need for a help. “Who can get me out of sins and from all the problems of my life? Who can guarantee I am forgiven? Who can save me and guarantee me heaven? “

Put your trust in Him, He can forgive your sins. Jesus is God who descended to earth to become a human being in order to atone for our sins. He replaced us in penance. He suffered to death on the cross to atone for sins and heal us.
Jesus wanted to come to earth to love you. As He said to Levi, He also said to you this evening, “Follow Me”.

John 3: 16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Whoever believes in Jesus will not perish but be guaranteed and paid for in full with his blood. If you believe, if you die you will be resurrected in eternity, just as Jesus Himself has become an example.

For those of you who already believe, according to the Word of God in John 1: 12, then you become children of God. Welcome to the kingdom of God!

All Those Who Touch Him Become Healed

Matthew 14: 34-36 tells us that after the arrival of Jesus and His disciples at Gennesaret, people in that place knew Jesus and they told about him throughout the area.

Then all the sick were brought to Him. They begged to be allowed to touch the tassel of His robe. And all those who touched Him were healed.

Indeed Jesus is a Healer. Isaiah 53: 5 says, “And by His stripes we are healed.” So whatever your illnesses, even Covid-19, can be cured by Jesus. Come to Him by faith. [RS/EM]
