KPPI (Divine Healing Praise Service) online took place again on Monday, June 22, 2020 through the Live Streaming program on Facebook, You Tube and Instagram.

The Word of God was delivered by Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak, taken from Mark 5: 21-24 and Mark 5: 35-43, regarding Jesus raising the son of Jairus from the dead.

Don’t Be Afraid, Just Believe!

Jairus, the father of a 12-year-old girl who was seriously ill, he begged so badly that he fell down at Jesus’ feet. He begged for his daughter who was seriously ill and almost died to be healed by the Lord Jesus.

Jesus wanted to come to Jairus’ house because his daughter was dying. Then Jesus went with Jairus. Crowds flocked to him and jostled near him.

They all want to know what will happen. When Jesus was on his way to Jairus’ house, his family came to tell him that his daughter was dead. They thought that because she was dead there was no need to trouble Jairus by asking Jesus to come to his house. They thought that a dead person could not be cured anymore. They knew that Jesus could heal, but they did not think that Jesus could raise this dead child.

Maybe Jairus was discouraged when he heard that his daughter was dead. Maybe he had also lost hope of receiving a miracle for his child. But Jesus said to Jairus, “Do not be afraid, just believe!”. Jesus strengthened Jairus’ faith and his hope arose that Jesus was able to perform miracles by raising his dead daughter.

They arrived at the house of the head of the synagogue, and there he saw noisy people, weeping and wailing loudly. This was a characteristic of people in grief. All felt sad wailing and crying.

The child was indeed dead, but Jesus said something miraculous, “This child is not dead but a sleep.” This noisy and crying person laughed at Jesus for His words.

Then Jesus drove out the noisy people because they did not believe. Jesus was with those who believed and whose hearts were ready to accept God’s miracles, then Jesus came to the room where the child was laid.

Then He held the girl’s hand, He said, “Talitha kum,” which means, “Daughter, I say to you, get up!” Instantly the girl got up and walked, because she was twelve years old. Everyone present was very amazed.

It is necessary to have an attitude of faith like Jairus, who was ready to accept miracles because he believed that Jesus could do it.
Let us learn to believe in Jesus just like the child’s parents. Jesus can perform miracles and even raise the dead, because He is God Himself, who came to earth and wants to be like a human being because of His love.

Believers Don’t Perish, Instead of Eternal Life

God came to the earth because He loves us so much and wants to save us (John 3:16) so that we can be saved, forgiven and redeemed from all our sins.

When we look at Jesus we see God’s love for people, which makes us come to know God.

If we want to see the patience of God, look at Jesus who was patient while He lived on earth. If we want to see how God forgives us, then look at Jesus going up to the cross to forgive us and how Jesus forgave those who crucified him.

If we want to see the power of God then look to Jesus who was able to raise the dead, to stop the storm, to feed 5000 people with only five loaves and two fishes. If we want to see how God will atone for our sins, let us see Jesus coming to the cross and saving us.

If we want to see how God heals the sick then look at Jesus who was beaten and strangled. God’s Word says, “By the healing of Jesus, we are healed.”

Would you believe in Jesus? If we believe in Him, we will be saved. His crucifixion would happen for us. And His blood can atone for the debt of our sins.

For the sick this is the time for you to receive healing from Jesus (Isaiah 53: 5). All it takes is faith. Jesus was able to perform miracles because he was the Son of the Most High. He is very powerful. Remember how He told the storm to calm down and it calmed down. So did He raised the dead.

Believe that no matter what your illness, Jesus is capable of healing, because He is God. Only Jesus is capable of healing your illness. [roy/lyd]
