KPPI (Praise and Divine Healing Service) online took place again on Monday, July 6, 2020 through the Live Streaming program on Facebook and You Tube. The Word of God was delivered by Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak, taken from Mark 10: 13-16 about Jesus blessed the children.
Come to Jesus Like Little Children
At that time Jesus was teaching and many people surrounded Him. Then people brought little children to Jesus, so that He touched them. So many parents brought their children to be blessed by Lord Jesus. But His disciples scolded the people.
How did Lord Jesus respond? Seeing this Jesus was angry. Jesus rarely gets angry. But this time Jesus was angry when His disciples scolded those who were carrying small children. There were several times Jesus was angry, one of which was when there was a young man who was sick of seizure and was possessed by demons until he was slammed and foamed his mouth, Jesus also rebuked His disciples because they could not expel the demons.
This time Jesus was also angry with them, because they forbade the little children to come to Him. This shows that little children matter so much to Jesus, that He had to scold His disciples for forbidding them to come to Jesus.
Then Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for such are the kingdoms of God.” Who are they?
They are the children.
So, first, those little ones, who come to him, inherit the kingdom of God. Second, Jesus said: “Whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child, he will not enter it.”
This time Jesus was talking to adults and asking them to be like little children. The little ones must have come to Jesus with joy, throwing their heads around for Jesus to handle. These little ones don’t think of anything. They are happy, innocent and believe in good adults and love them. So they don’t think about themselves but they focus more on the people who care about them.
Jesus said that if we want to come and believe in Jesus, then we must be like these little children, who do not think to be self-sufficient, sincere, trusting and focused on the Jesus that we know He loves us.
Why did Jesus say that? It may be that many adults come to Jesus without sincerity, but want to be released from the problem, to be asked for a job, to be blessed, to want their business to succeed, to get a mate, and more. So many people come to be blessed and want to succeed on earth. While the little children came because they were happy to see Jesus and loved Jesus. Because surely with a smile Jesus greeted them. They were glad Jesus laid his hands on them, They believed Jesus was good and would protect and watch over them.
Believe in Jesus Without Questioning Everything
That is what Jesus hopes for all of us if we want to believe in Jesus. The most desirable child is to be loved, cuddled and laid on his hands. Surely the children did not have the question, “Where is my fortune, my career, my car, my house, or how my food?”
A child never asks his father, “What are we eating today?” Because they believe it all will surely be provided by his father. Even if his father doesn’t, they will still believe. These are the typical of children, they believe and they are sincere in their father, and believe there must be a father’s house where he lives. We need to be happy like a child in welcoming Jesus.
Mark 10:16 Then he embraced the children and placed his hands on them and blessed them. You can imagine all the children being hugged individually and blessed, they are very happy, listening to Jesus pray for them. Surely no one asks for anything, they believe Jesus will provide all the goodness for them.
Likewise if you want to come to Jesus, believe that He is good, like a Father, surely He will protect and provide for your needs.
Will we believe that Jesus really loved us? In fact, His love is not only sufficient for our needs on earth, but to provide a home for us in Heaven so that where Jesus is, we too are (John 1: 2-3).
That is what Jesus provided for us, how good He is. He thinks of us to eternity. Jesus is good for us. Jesus said, “Don’t worry about your life, the birds in the air are cared for especially us.”
Jesus came to give us a guarantee of salvation. It is not a matter of being healed or of being given food or facilities, but Jesus is providing a place for us in Heaven.
“Seek first the kingdom of God and its truth then all of it will be added to you”. If you are looking for, is there a guarantee in life then Jesus guarantees it today. If you believe that His blood shed to save you, you will be saved.
This is good news, which is a guarantee of eternity. Jesus is the Son of God who came down from Heaven, died on the cross, was buried and on the third day rose from the dead to atone for our sins.
As the Word of God in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.”
Everyone Who Touches Him Becomes Healed
If you are sick, believe that Jesus can heal you. He did it around two thousand years ago. He raised the dead and He healed all sick diseases.
As in Mark 6: 53-56: “When he came across Jesus and his disciples landed at Gennesaret and anchored there. When they got out of the boat, people immediately knew Jesus. So they ran throughout the whole area and began to bring the sick on mats to Jesus wherever they were reported. Wherever he went, in the villages, in the cities, or in the villages, people put sick people in the market and begged Him, so that they were allowed to touch only the tufts of His robe. And all those who touched Him became healed. “
This is the time for you to believe and be healed. You may have been sick for years that makes you suffer so much, Jesus is able to heal, all you need is faith. [RS/EM]
