The online KPPI (Praise and Divine Healing Service) took place again on Monday, October 5, 2020 through the Live Streaming program on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
The Word of God was delivered by Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak, taken from Matthew 15: 32-39 about Jesus feeding four thousand people.
Jesus Fed Four Thousand People
The Word of God in Matthew 15: 32-39 tells about the miracle performed by Lord Jesus, who was feeding four thousand men, excluding women and children.
In verse 32 it is told that the crowd had continued with Jesus three days and had nothing to eat. But Jesus did not want to send them away hungry, as they would faint on the way.
Then His disciples said to Him, “Where could we get enough bread in the wilderness to fill such a great multitude?” Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven, and a few little fish.”
So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitude. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets full of the fragments that were left. Now those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children.
As you can imagine, if it is assumed that at that time one man brought one wife and one child, then there were 12,000 of them. So, 7 loaves of bread and a few little fish could feed about 12,000 people until they were all full. This is a great multiplication miracle. We cannot multiply one loaf of bread into two or three or five or ten. But Jesus did it, it’s a great miracle. Previously Jesus had also performed a miracle of five loaves and two fish which fed five thousand men, not include women and children, until they were all full (Matthew 14: 13-21).
Only Jesus was able to perform this miracle. Jesus also dried up a fig tree. Imagine a tree with many leaves, so when Jesus said to the tree, “Don’t anyone else eat your fruit forever!” The tree immediately withered up to the roots (Mark 11: 12-14). Even trees submit to God’s Word. Nature also submits to Jesus. When the disciples in the boat in the middle of the lake were hit by a storm, Jesus rebuked him with two words, “Peace. Be still. ” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
Jesus Is the Word Who Became Man
Why did Jesus have such power over all of them? There is only one answer, because Jesus is God Himself. He is the Word of God who became a human being. Therefore Jesus is able to perform miracles.
John 1:14, the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, namely the glory given to Him as the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Jesus is the Word who is God Himself, but was willing to come down to earth to become flesh. As you know, when God spoke so there were the heavens and the earth.
Hebrews 11: 3 says: “By faith we understand that the universe was made by the word of God, so that what we see has come into being from what we cannot see.”
We know that this universe, heaven and earth, was made by God’s Word. So Jesus is God because it was in Jesus that God created the heaven and the earth. The Word of God became flesh, was born in our midst, became human like us.
The Word of God can work miracles, He can make seven loaves of bread to feed 12,000 people. But even though He is a very powerful God, He also loves us very much. What is the proof of His love? He wanted to come to earth to become a human being to pay for our sins, because there is no one able to pay them, so we need a Redeemer. For this reason, God Himself came to the world, became human and gave His life to die on the cross to atone for our sins.
1 John 4: 9-10, “In this the love of God is manifested among us, namely that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, so that we may live through Him. This is love: It is not we who have loved God, but God who has loved us and who sent His Son as atonement for our sins. ”
Why did Jesus come? He was sent by the Father to atone for our sins because of the great love of God the Father for us. Even though He is very powerful, can do any miracle, heal all sicknesses and even raise a man who has died and been buried for 4 days, but by His love, He wants to come into the world as a human and die for you and me.
Will you trust Him? If you want to believe, your sins are forgiven, redeemed by the blood of Jesus who died on the cross, and you are freed from punishment.
By His Stripes We Are Healed
Brothers and sisters, for you who already believe in Jesus, if you are sick, don’t worry, your Father in heaven wants to heal you. This is the right moment, just believe in it.
Isaiah 53: 5 But He was pierced for our rebellion, he was bruised for our iniquities; the reward which brings salvation to us is inflicted upon him, and by his stripes we are healed.
This Word of God says, “by His stripes we are healed.” When Jesus was arrested, He went through great suffering, one of which was being flogged. Jesus was scourged and His body was full with stripes and it is by His stripes that we are healed. It is not hopefully being healed but truly healed. What you need is to believe in Jesus.
The power of Lord Jesus never changes, it remains the same from yesterday and today and forever there always be miracles in the name of Jesus.
Hebrews 13: 8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
For those of you who are sick, lay your hands on the part that is sick, let’s pray with faith and believe that Jesus heals you. [RS/HN/EM]
