The Online Program of KPPI (Praise and Divine Healing Service) was held on Thursday, February 11, 2021. It was a live-streaming program that could be watched through Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. The Word of God was delivered by Rev. Jacob Sumbayak, taken from John 9: 1-12 about a man born blind.
Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind
As Jesus was passing by and saw a man blind from birth, the disciples of Jesus asked who had sinned that this man was born blind. This person is an adult man and he had been blind since birth, so he had never seen anything. In this case, it must be difficult for him to be cured.
However, a miracle happened when Jesus told him to wash himself in the pool of Siloam, this man came back with his eyes opened. Everyone was amazed because they had seen this man blind and begging for years.
This man did not really know about Jesus. When he was asked about the one who healed him, he simply said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received sight.” This man testified that the One who healed him was Jesus.
Indeed, there are people who are sick because of their sin, but this man was sick not because of his sins nor the sins of his parents, but because the works of God must be revealed in him.
Oftentimes when we are sick, we wonder what sin we have done that cause us sick. Some may ask questions like this, “Why am I sick from childhood? Why do I have a disability? Why did the medical team say I lacked this hormone so that I am so limited and sick?
Brothers and sisters, if we know we are sick because of our sin, then ask God for forgiveness, repent and God will heal us. However, we may be sick not because of sin, but in order that we can come and ask God to heal us, and so that we may know God and the name of God be glorified after we receive healing.
Will we come to God to be healed? Never think that God forgets us, even a small bird is very important to God, how much more He cares for us. God has been waiting for us for so long to heal us.
Indeed, there was a believer like Bartimaeus who was blind, and he cried out to Jesus for help. However, this man who was born blind did not ask for healing, but it was Jesus who came and healed him. God wants this man to have faith. Jesus simply spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva, and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay and told him to wash himself in the pool of Siloam. God just showed him the way. This blind man did not ask Jesus to take him there, he immediately did it without delay. And when he washed his face in the pool of Siloam, his eyes were opened.
Jesus is the Son of Man Who Has the Power to Forgive Sins
John 9: 35-38 “Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, “Do you believe in the Son of God?” He answered and said, “Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?” And Jesus said to him, “You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you.” Then he said, “Lord, I believe!” And he worshiped Him.”
This blind man was deeply moved when he finally met Jesus who healed him. He knew Jesus was talking about God who loved him so much, that he was ready to love Jesus, and said: “Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?” When Jesus said that He was the Son of Man who was speaking to him, this man who was born blind from birth said, “Lord, I believe!” And he worshiped Him.
This man wants to say that he believes in Jesus who is God Himself, so he bowed down and worshiped Jesus. Jesus seldom introduced Himself, but to this blind man, He revealed Himself. Jesus is the Son of God who is able to heal and forgive our sins.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Whoever believes in Him will not be punished but will have eternal life. We are born in sin, and man cannot redeem himself, there must be Someone to help us. The Son of God, Jesus, came into the world to save us. Our sins are forgiven. Jesus died on the cross, He was crucified so that we may be saved. If we truly act in faith to believe in Him and receive Him, then we will be called as the children of God. (John 1:12).
The man who was blind from birth could be healed by Jesus. He testified in John 9:32 that since the world began, it has been unheard of that anyone opened the eyes of one who was born blind, but Jesus was able to heal him.
Isaiah 53: 5 “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
All the tortures were inflicted on Jesus so that we would be saved and by His stripes we are healed. He suffered so much that we would be healed. Believe by faith that we shall receive miracles today. Jesus will heal us.
Jesus is the Son of God who is able to heal us. He even was able to raise people from the dead. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13: 8). [yf/hn/em]
