Online KPPI (God’s Praise and Healing Service) took place on Thursday, July 15, 2022 through a Live Streaming program that can be watched via Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.

The Word of God was delivered by Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak, taken from Matthew 8:5-13 Jesus heals the servant of a centurion in Capernaum.

Roman Soldiers, not Jews but Their Faith is Greater than Israelis

This soldier was a Roman who had a high position. He was an officer in charge of about 100 elite soldiers. This warlike officer, who used to face the rigors of battle, turned out to be very fond of his servant.

He came to Jesus and begged for his servant, who was paralyzed and in great pain, to be healed. Jesus was deeply attracted by this centurion’s humility and faith.

He believed Jesus could heal his servant with just one word. Why did he have such faith? Because he took a stand from his own life as a soldier. He imagined that if his commander called, he would obey because his commander had undeniable power and would definitely be done by his subordinates.

He knew Jesus had power, so that if Jesus said he was healed, he would be healed. Jesus was surprised that there were people who had this kind of faith, even though they were foreigners, even colonial soldiers. But this man had great faith, believing that Jesus was the Messiah.

The Messiah has the power to heal and forgive sins. This Roman officer firmly believed in this. While Jesus said, many children of the kingdom who do not believe that Jesus is the Messiah, and they will go to hell.

So, when Jesus said: “… come home to you as you believe”, at that moment his servant was healed. Jesus did not say, “your servant be healed”, only “be it unto you according to your faith”. However, the servant who was lying at home because he was paralyzed was healed instantly.

Jesus has the power to forgive our sins

The officer firmly believed that Jesus had power and that He came from Heaven. So he came to Jesus asking for just a word for him to do.

Jesus did have the power to forgive sins because He is the Son of God, who came down from heaven to become a man. This He did to save us, to redeem us from our sins. Because He knows we cannot pay the debt for our sins.

He gave Himself up. He willingly accepted false accusations, and was beaten, punched, mocked, and hanged on a cross. Jesus was willing to suffer pain for hours on the cross until his last breath. That’s all He did so that we sinners are not punished. He accepted all the punishments so that we could be saved.

Will you believe in Him? If you believe, you will be saved.
Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak then led in prayer to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.

John 1:12
But to all who received Him, He gave the power to become children of God, to those who believe in His name

As children of God, by being forgiven, we are no longer bound by sin and have the power to overcome the desires of sin. If we believe in Jesus, we will get what we believe.

By His stripes We Are Healed

For those of you who are sick and hope for healing, believe that Jesus is able to heal you.

1 Peter 2:24
He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we, who died to sin, might live to righteousness. By His stripes you have been healed.

The Word of God says by His stripes you have been healed. Why has it healed? Because Jesus paid for it on the cross and Jesus really wants us all to be healed.

Come brothers and sisters, put one hand on the sick part of your body and raise your other hand to pray with faith in Jesus.
Then Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak led the healing prayer.
